MISS Facilitator - Merced, California

Kim Lotz is a certified facilitator for the Merced, California
chapter of The MISS Foundation. On January 11th, 1996 her first
child Tyler was stillborn 3 days after his due date because of
complications with his umbilical cord. Tyler's loss devastated
both her and her husband Theo. They have found that the only cure
for their pain is to reach out and embrace others enduring the
same tragedy.
Kim’s chapter of MISS focuses largely on the Kindness Project.
She believes this is an excellent way to allow healing for herself
and others by doing random acts of kindness in memory of their
children.
Kim has done several articles with newspapers and television stations
in Central California about the Kindness Project, National Children’s
Memorial Day, and her support group for parents who have suffered
the death of their baby. She has a passion for educating communities
on the great sorrow that follows the death of a child.
Kim has 3 living children, Theo II, Madalyn, and Hannah. Kim, her
husband Theo, and their children live in Merced, California. Her
favorite saying is, "We are five in our family. We are six
in our family. Five and six at the same time. We have an invisible
child that we carry with us without anyone seeing him ... Only
when you choose to see our invisible child do you know our family."
Kim finds comfort in believing that Tyler lives on through the
work she does with MISS and through the families that she allows
his memory to touch.
