Laura Butts

Volunteer, Moderator of Sudden Loss Board

My name is Laura, my husbands name is Rex, we lost our first child, a baby boy when he was 3 days old. His name is Kenneth James Butts (we call him Kenny), the cause of death has never been determined (Born July 31, 2002 passed away August 2, 2002 in the early evening). I became a member of MISS about 6 months after he passed away (February 2003). We have been living in Memphis Tennessee while my husband worked on his Masters of Divinity. We will be moving to Ithaca, New York at the end of this month (December 2006). Our daughter Caryn Mae was born January 1, 2005. She is our second child. I am a special education teacher. My husband is a minister who has just got his first job in ministry. This is the reason for moving to New York! I hope to provide a source of help, comfort, etc. to parents who have suffered a loss of a child. Thank you MISS for being here for me for all this time and I am so proud to be a part of the moderating team. MISS has been so important in my healing process, which by the way is still a work in progress, and will always be! Anyway here I am and ready to be of service to other parents and family members here at MISS! In the memory and honor of all our precious ones!
