Sarah is a writer, educator, wife to Terry, and mother of four children: Carver, the
philosopher, Sophia, the dreamer, Grace, the angel born silently on June 1, 2003, and Sawyer,
the magical salve come to offer us hope and healing.
Grace lived her life fully and completely inside of Sarah’s womb
and though we don’t always recognize the gifts she’s left behind,
we are continually seeking those gifts in every way possible.
Sarah has an MFA in Fiction from Eastern Washington University
with a secondary emphasis in Literary Editing and Teaching English
as a Second Language.
She has been a leader for many years of various community and
national parent-related groups including La Leche League International,
Moms of Young Children, and an Elementary School Site Council Board
member, and now, most recently, a MISS facilitator.
Her writing and editing experience includes former Managing Editor
of Willow Springs magazine, newsletter editor for several
local businesses and organizations, former book reviewer for Heinle
and Heinle, former Accreditation Editor for Eastern Washington
University, and current fiction reader for Bellevue Literary
Magazine, www.blreview.org.
She has writing forthcoming or recently published The Loss

Sarah’s previous publications include work in New Beginnings:
A La Leche League Breastfeeding Journal, former freelance
writer for The Daily Pilot newspaper, a community outreach
workshop on recruiting volunteers, ESL conference presenter on Poetry
Writing in the Classroom and Developing Language Through
Writing, and presenter at New York TESOL conference on the
university accreditation process.
