Popular Arcadia Restaurants and Chef’s Unite in
Support of Bereaved Families

(Scottsdale, AZLast fall Arcadia moms, Julie Blouin, Megan Kuhl, Kerry Formanek, Kathy Sandler and Kelly Wilcott began working together to publish a fundraising cookbook, MISSing Ingredients: A Re-membering Cookbook.  The cookbook contains over 200 recipes and dedications from families and includes recipes from celebrity chefs and popular Arcadia restaurants including, Tarbell’s, Postino Winecafé, Sauce, NoRTH, Le Grande Orange, and Chelsea’s Kitchen. The cookbook sells for $15 and 100% of the proceeds benefit the MISS Foundation, a valley non-profit serving families after the loss of a child.

cookbookThe cookbook will debut on Saturday, June 5 from 7-10 pm at a fundraising event entitled, Celebrating Memories: The MISSing Ingredients Cookbook Debut.   The public is invited to attend this summer dressy casual wine/appetizer event being held at 8529 N. 15th Avenue (MAP), a beautiful Tuscan Farmhouse in central Phoenix. All proceeds from the cookbook debut will support the MISS Foundation’s conference for bereaved families and bereavement professionals, September 2, 3 & 4, 2010.

Postino Winecafé’s well-known bruschetta, antipasto and cheese platters will be featured. Executive Chef Justin Beckett will attend as the Celebrity Chef, personally preparing his signature appetizers. Beckett is one of the most energetic, inspired and driven chefs in Arizona and has created and developed concepts locally and nationally. He has been the head chef at several Phoenix restaurants, including Roy’s, Steamers, Hotel Valley Ho, Café Zuzu and Trader Vics.  When asked about his donation of time and expertise, Beckett states, “I feel privileged to be part of the MISS Foundation and support such a worthwhile and needed cause. As a chef and a father, I can't think of a better way to heal than through cooking.”

The cost is a $60 per person, or $100 per couple, and qualifies as tax-deductible donation and includes live entertainment, food, beverages, a raffle and silent auction items donated by Tarbell’s, Le Grande Orange and Postino Winecafé.

If you would like to attend, register online on our secure server. You may also support the mission of the MISS Foundation by pre-ordering your cookbook today via http://www.missfoundation.org/miss_shop.  Following the debut, cookbooks will also be available for purchase at Le Grande Orange, Petite Chateau at 3939 East Campbell Avenue and Stephanie's at 7040 E. Indian School Road.
