Open Research Calls for Participants
An open invitation to parents who have experienced child loss
Hello. With great respect I would like to please invite you, if you are 18 or older, to bring your opinions and experiences to a brief, 12-question online survey on the experiences of bereaved parents.
We understand that there is no measuring the magnitude of pain and loss after the death of a child. We know that you would come to this survey with your own very unique experiences, memories, and feelings. Each person coming to this survey is at a different place in the difficult journey of traumatic grief. We sincerely appreciate your taking time to add your unique voice to our research on the experiences of bereaved parents, and we hope that with this research we will move the world a little closer to a compassionate care model that offers the best support possible to individuals and families in their time of deepest crisis.
I am a graduate student under the direction of Dr. Joanne Cacciatore in the School of Social Work at Arizona State University. The purpose of this study is to understand better a specific aspect of the grief process and support needs of bereaved parents, on the subject of bereavement photography, so as to help improve bereavement care and understanding on the part of human service workers and ultimately the general public.
I am recruiting parents who have experienced the loss of their child or children to participate in an online survey about your feelings regarding photography after the death of your child or children. You are invited to participate whether or not you had experiences with bereavement photography. Completion of the survey is expected to take an average of 15-20 minutes. Your participation will be greatly appreciated.
Your participation in this study is completely voluntary. There is no material compensation or incentive to participate. If you no longer feel comfortable participating, you may exit or ask to be removed from the study, with no pressure or penalty. As a participant you will be provided with a list of bereavement resources should you want or need them.
If you have any questions concerning the research study, please feel free to contact the principal investigator and research supervisor Dr. Joanne Cacciatore at (602)496-0073, or me, Cybele Blood, at (970) 596-3807, or collaborator Dr. Melissa Flint.
Thank you for your time.
